FAQs How large a case can I outfit? |
When it comes to protecting delicate equipment in transit or in the field,
soft-sided carrying cases just don't pass muster. After all, you'd cringe if
you had a delicate camera in a soft-sided case and accidentially dropped it from
a few feet off the ground. With a hard-sided case, you wouldn't think twice about
damage. This, of course, is why one sees hard-sided cases used so often in
demanding commercial and military applications. There are plenty of hard-sided
equipment cases sold to individuals too: everything from simple plastic boxes
to snazzy cases made of aircraft aluminum. With just a little investigation, you'll quickly discover that hard-sided cases
come in a dizzying array of sizes, colors and prices. Whatever your preference, from the most eye-catching aluminum case to a
cheap plastic toolbox, you'll do well to use the CaseCAD software
and our associated fabrication service for your case inserts. We have made it
particularly easy for owners of the most popular Pelican Protector Cases™ (our favorite line) to configure
the overall size of their foam inserts, having merely to choose the appropriate model in CaseCAD's
start-up wizard. CaseCAD can also be used to design custom foam inserts for
other sorts of cases. You just have to specify the internal dimensions of
the case. So put down that kitchen knife or razor
blade and pick up our software. Although taking advantage of our Internet-based
fabrication service costs somewhat more than just purchasing prescored foam,
our custom inserts will give your case a
much higher level of functionality, durability and appearance.
