The formula we use to calculate prices is, admittedly, a little complicated. But there's no need to reach for a calculator: you can easily find the cost of the insert you are designing by choosing Compute Cost from the CaseCAD software's Order menu. As you'll discover, the price depends largely on the dimensions of your insert and whether you elect to have us provide foam for the lid of the case (choices that you can change at any time using CaseCAD's Fabrication menu). There will also be a surcharge imposed if your design includes more than the standard allowance for the number of pockets (24 one-inch-deep pockets, 12 two-inch-deep pockets, 8 three-inch-deep pockets and so forth). The price of an insert is computed by summing the following components: Setup charge Geometry-dependent charge Surcharge for pockets in excess of standard allowance Surcharge for electing to include lid foam Example
The foam insert for the PELICAN™ 1400 case shown at right, which measures about 12" by 9" by 5" inches, would cost just $79.93 (including foam for the lid). This is only $47 more than the $32.95 price of a blank set of factory replacement foam for this case. Other Sizes The cost of a custom insert for other popular PELICAN™ cases can be found in the following table (which assumes that the number of pockets does not exceed the standard allowance). This table will also give you a general idea of the price of custom inserts for other cases of similar dimensions to those listed. Please note that tax (for North Carolina residents) and shipping are not included and that our prices are subject to change.
